According to Qatar News Agency, Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef arrived in Doha on Saturday evening, accompanied by a delegation from Saudi Arabia.

According to Qatar’s Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, who recently met with the Saudi Ambassador to Qatar, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, in Doha, efforts are underway to establish the Qatar-Saudi Joint Business Council.

The business meeting also emphasized the importance of convening a meeting of council members “as soon as possible” to discuss how to stimulate commercial and investment links between Qatari and Saudi businessmen.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Musaed Bin Mohammed al-Aiban, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State and Acting Foreign Minister, met in the Saudi city of Neom last month to sign an amended protocol for the establishment of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council.

The council will be co-chaired by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani and will be the next step toward rapprochement. It will also include high-ranking officials from both countries as members.
