As part of a Cabinet reorganization, King Salman of Saudi Arabia appointed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as prime minister on Tuesday.

The monarch will still preside over Cabinet sessions, according to the proclamation made public by Saudi Arabia’s official press agency.

The proclamation said that bin Salman was replaced as defense minister by Khalid bin Salman.

The position of deputy defense minister has also been given to Mani Shaman Turki al-Habardi Al-Utaybi.
