Saudi Crown Prince receives British Foreign Secretary

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with the British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab in Neom, the $500 billion mega-city project of the Kingdom.

On Monday, the state-owned Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab in Neom city. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East as well as ways to boost bilateral relations and sought opportunities for joint cooperation in various fields, the agency noted.

The state news agency SPA also reported that attempts to strengthen the security and stability in the region were other issues that the two high officials discussed.

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and Minister of Trade Majid Al Qasabi were also present at the meeting.

Sharing a post through his Twitter account, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said “The UK warmly welcomes the Kingdom’s commitment to increasing the use of renewable energy by 50% by 2030.

Last March, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched the Saudi and Middle East Green initiatives, which cover a series of programs that would reduce carbon emissions of the Kingdom by 60 percent. The initiatives were launched within the scope of Vision 2030.
