Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received Saudi envoy Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan. In the meeting, the Saudi ambassador presented his credentials to the Qatari Emir.

On June 21, the Saudi envoy had presented his credentials to Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Welcoming the Saudi Ambassador, the Qatari Emir wished him success in his mission and reiterated his hope to improve the historical relations between the two countries. Emir Sheikh Tamim also conveyed his greetings and satisfaction to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In response, the Saudi envoy delivered greetings from the King and the Crown Prince to the Qatari Emir and expressed his enthusiasm to contribute to improving bilateral ties in all fields.

Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdulrahman Al Thani was also present at the ceremony for the Saudi envoy.

Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan is the first Saudi envoy appointed to Qatar after a long diplomatic crisis between Doha and its Gulf neighbors, as well as Egypt. Prior to his new post in Qatar, Prince Mansour served as a member of the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the UN in New York.

The relations between the two countries have experienced a boost since they agreed to normalize relations in January through the Al Ula Declaration, which brought an end to over 3 and a half years-long dispute among Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt.
