On Monday, the Qatari state news agency (QNA) reported that Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a phone call. During the call, the bilateral relations between the two countries were addressed, the state news agency added.

Since the reconciliation agreement that Qatar signed with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain in January to bring an end to more than three years of conflict, this call has come as the second of its kind.

Apart from bilateral relations, Saudi Green Initiative and Green Middle East Initiative were the other issues that the two top officials had touched during the call, the QNA said.

Previously, it had been announced that the aforementioned initiatives targeted to improve an enthusiastic regional guideline to handle environmental challenges, comprising wide ranges of areas such as clean energy, reforestation, and natural reserves to decimate carbon emissions, preserving biodiversity, and ameliorating public health and quality of life.

The initiatives have also been developed within the context of Saudi Vision 2030 to reduce the Kingdom’s dependency on oil revenues.
