Israeli President Isaac Herzog arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday, on his first such visit to the Gulf region.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday, on his first such visit to the Gulf region. Following Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s historic visit to the UAE in September 2020, which mended relations with Israel, the two leaders will meet again on Sunday.

According to Herzog, he will meet with the UAE’s ruling family at the personal invitation of Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan.”

Herzog will also meet with Dubai’s ruler and other high-ranking officials, as well as pay a visit to the Dubai Expo.

The visit comes as world powers try to resurrect a nuclear deal with Iran.

International negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program were on the table during Prime Minister Bennett’s recent visit to the country.
