Israeli, Bahraini defense ministers hold talks on regional stability

Aviv Kochavi, the Israeli army’s chief of staff, met with Bahraini Defense Minister Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa in Manama to discuss regional stability.

According to the Bahraini state news agency, the two officials discussed matters related to promoting regional stability as well as problems of common concern.

Kochavi landed in Bahrain for an unplanned visit on Wednesday. During his visit, he will meet with Brad Cooper, head of the US Naval Forces Central Command and the 5th Fleet.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, and Defense Minister Benny Gantz are among the Israeli authorities who have visited Bahrain in recent months.

Bahrain was one of four Arab countries to sign US-sponsored accords to improve relations.
