The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, expressed his willingness to implement the roadmap determined at the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF). Menfi added that they will provide all kinds of support for the elections to take place on the date determined within the scope of the roadmap, and to support the 5+5 Joint Military Committee.

Speaking at a meeting attended by the mayor and the elders of the city of Tobruk in the eastern part of Libya, al-Menfi listened to the problems of the people of the region. Al-Menfi, who made statements on issues such as power cuts and the COVID-19 pandemic in the region, stated that they will mobilize opportunities as the Government of National Unity (GNU) and the Presidential Council to solve the problems mentioned.

Mohamed al-Menfi, who took office in March 2021, is of Tobruk origin. The city of Tobruk, which hosts the House of Representatives (HoR) led by Aguila Saleh, has had problems with electricity and water supply for a long time. Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh and the GNU are preparing to implement development and infrastructure projects for the needs of the people in the city, where the leader of the eastern militia, Khalifa Haftar, has also been active in hindering the operations of the GNU.
