The Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid al-Mishri and Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU) Hussein al-Qatrani met on Wednesday in Tripoli.

During the talks, the constitutional basis of the postponed elections was discussed.

In the statement made by the HCS media office after the meetings, the problems that hinder the functioning and performance of the government were discussed at the meeting.

Al-Mishri stated that the negotiations between the political parties are continuing on the constitutional basis of the elections and the operation of a fair process.

In addition to this, in a statement from Deputy Prime Minister al-Qatrani’s office, it was stated that he supports the political process.

It was emphasized in the statement that works on determining the constitutional basis continue for the realization of free and fair elections with the wide participation of the voters without excluding any party, and that different parties should be in dialogue on this issue.
