EU provides 18 million euros to aid refugees in North African countries

According to the statement made by the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), for 2022, 18 million euros will be allocated to help refugees in need in Egypt, Algeria, and Libya, by the European Commission.

It is mentioned in the statement that five million euros will be allocated to refugees and asylum seekers living in poor neighborhoods close to the city center in Egypt.

Also, four million euros will be provided to meet the humanitarian needs in health and education for refugees in Libya and to protect them in areas far from the city center.

Finally, it was stated that funds amounting to nine million euros will be allocated to Sahrawi refugees in Algeria in order to ensure access to food, fresh water, and health services.
