Badr al-Busaidi, Omani Foreign Minister, declared on Thursday that Oman believes its current level of relations with Israel are satisfactory, and that it remains true to its commitment to a two state solution to the Israel-Palestine dispute. Foreign Minister al-Busaidi also stated Oman’s readiness to assist in the JCPOA dispute between Iran and the US, though admitting that current negotiation channels could be sufficient regardless.
The statement by al-Busaidi comes during a time where two Gulf countries have normalized their relations with Israel. After being appointed by Oman’s new Sultan Haitham in August of 2020, al-Busaidi has continued Oman’s longstanding foreign policy of neutrality.
