In a written statement from the Presidency of Algeria, it was stated that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune gave instructions on the export of food consumption products.

In the statement, it was stated that Tebboune ordered an export ban on food products such as oil, sugar, wheat, and its derivatives, and it was noted that the Minister of Justice was charged with creating a draft law that criminalizes the export of the said substances that are not produced locally.

In the statement, some incentives for farmers who are suppliers of strategic stocks of the state were pointed out.

Algerian Minister of Agriculture Abdelhafid Henni stated a few days ago that the grain stocks in his country were sufficient until the end of 2022, due to the concerns that may arise in grain products due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

It is stated that Algeria, which has a wheat production of approximately 1.3 million tons, consumes 9-12 million tons of wheat annually.
