Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with US Central Command Commander Gen. Kenneth McKenzie on Wednesday to discuss regional events.
According to a statement released by the Emir’s office, the Amiri Diwan, talks between the two parties in Doha focused on strategic cooperation between the two nations as well as regional developments.
Al-Udeid Airbase, 30 kilometers southwest of Doha, is home to 13,000 US troops.
The station serves as a command center for operations in Iraq and Syria against the Daesh/ISIS terrorist organization.
