Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita held talks with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Nayef Al Hajraf through video-conference.
According to the statement issued by Morocco Foreign Ministry, the two high-level diplomats discussed issues regarding regional security.
Emphasizing that the security of the Gulf countries is an indivisible part of Morocco’s stability and security, Foreign Minister Bourita condemned Yemen’s Houthis’ attacks targeting civilian areas and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On his part, Al Hajraf reiterated the GCC’s stance supporting Morocco’s claims regarding the Western Sahara issue.
On January 17, the Iranian-backed Houthi group organized an attack through drones towards the UAE, which caused three deaths and six injuries.
Houthi’s military spokesperson Yahya Saree announced that the attacks targeting Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports and an oil facility in Musaffah, the industrial district in Abu Dhabi, had been carried out via the Iranian-made “Quds-2” and “Zulfiqar” ballistic missiles.
