In a written statement from Hamas, it was stated that an invitation was received from the Algerian Ambassador to Doha regarding the issue.

In the statement, it was stated that the delegation headed by Haniyeh will also include Hamas administrators Khalil al-Hayya and Hussam Badran.

It was stated that Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune invited the Hamas delegation to meet in order to achieve the success of the Palestinian national dialogue initiative.

While it was stated that the Hamas delegation will go to Algeria next week, a clear date for the visit was not given.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with President Tebboune in Algeria on December 6, 2021. “We have decided to host a comprehensive symposium for Palestinian groups soon,” Tebboune had said at the press conference held after the meeting.

Since 2007, when Hamas came to power in the Gaza Strip, which won the 2006 elections in Palestine, there has been a political split between the Hamas and Fatah movements.

In the intervening 14 years, many agreements were signed between the two movements, but these could not be implemented due to the disagreements that arose.
