According to Israel’s ambassador to Rabat on Saturday, a visa exemption agreement between Israel and Morocco has entered into force.
Israeli Ambassador in Rabat David Govrin said on Twitter: “I am pleased to inform you that an agreement has been signed between the State of Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco regarding visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports.”
The move “entered into force at the end of last month,” he added.
While Moroccan authorities have not yet commented on the announcement, the Israeli envoy did not provide further details.
After the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan, Morocco was the fourth Arab country to agree to normalize ties with Israel in 2020.
