Head of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki stated that they support all kinds of regional and international formations in order to ensure peace and stability in Libya.

Faki, who met with Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush at the Union’s Executive Council meeting, reiterated the Commission’s support for the Libyan reconciliation process.

During the meetings, the parties discussed opening the African Union Liaison Office to the capital Tripoli in order to work more closely with Libyan institutions during the transition process of Libya.

In addition, Mangoush thanked the African Union for its interest in the situation in Libya and its support for the election process.

The Libyan presidential election, planned to be held on December 24, was postponed.
