It has been announced that the United Nations will continue to support the two-state solution to end the decades-long conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis.

A two-state solution based on Israel and the Palestinian Authority coexisting in peace and security has been the focus of UN efforts for some time, and Farhan Haq, the deputy UN spokesperson, said to reporters.

Naftali Bennett made a remark in which he said he would not accept the creation of a Palestinian state during his term as Israeli prime minister. Haq was responding to a question about this statement.

There have been a variety of viewpoints expressed over the years by various individuals and political groups.” This is the only feasible method to resolve the challenges that the communities confront, but we continue to adhere to it,” he continued.

Bennett stated on Thursday that “there will be no implementation of the Oslo agreement as long as I am prime minister.”

The Oslo Accords, reached in 1993 by Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization, allowed Palestinians a measure of self-rule, but further discussions failed to produce a Palestinian state.

Israel’s reluctance to halt settlement development and release Palestinian inmates imprisoned before 1993 led to the breakdown of peace efforts in April 2014.
