Turkey’s foreign ministry stated on Monday that its foreign minister and his Iranian counterpart discussed the latest developments in Ukraine amid its war with Russia over the phone.

Bilateral relations and the upcoming Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, which is scheduled for March 11-13, were also discussed between Mevlut Cavusoglu and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

In addition, ongoing efforts to revive the Iran nuclear deal in Vienna were also talked about during the phone meeting between Cavusoglu and Amir-Abdollahian.

International outrage ensued when Russia attacked Ukraine, with the EU, UK, and US, among others, imposing a range of economic sanctions on Moscow. A number of major companies are also cutting their business ties with Russia.

According to UN figures, at least 406 civilians have been killed and 801 others injured in Ukraine since the beginning of the war.

The UNHCR expressed that more than 1.7 million people have also fled to neighboring countries.
