Turkish parliamentary speaker, UAE deputy PM holds talks

Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop met with the deputy prime minister and interior minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi to discuss bilateral ties.

On Thursday, Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop met with the deputy prime minister and interior minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi to discuss bilateral ties.

Sentop and Al-Nahyan discussed their expectations on bilateral relations, while being accompanied by a Turkish parliamentary delegation.

The two sides expressed their wish to further develop commercial and economic ties during the meeting.

Sentop said both nations sought close relations and cooperation, and that Emirati authorities had a strong will to develop ties with Turkey, while also underlining the deep-rooted historical bond between the two countries.

Sentop later set off for Dubai to visit the Turkish, Emirati, and Azerbaijani stands at Expo 2020.

Sentop arrived in the UAE late on Wednesday and expressed that Turkey and the Gulf country can work together in many areas, including in commerce and the economy. Sentop also underlined that the sides had the capacity to contribute to regional peace by working together.​​​​​​​

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to pay an official visit to the UAE in mid-February.
