Turkish FM voices support of unity, security and prosperity in the Gulf

Turkish Foreign Minister reaffirms his Omani counterpart to improve bilateral relations despite the difficulties brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Turkish Foreign Minister, visited his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood al-Busaidi, as the second part of his three-day trip within the Gulf. In a joint statement given by both ministers, Çavuşoğlu underlined Oman’s neutral foreign policy and praised the country as a voice of wisdom and reason in the region.

The Turkish Foreign Minister noted that Turkey is prepared to work closely with Oman and other Gulf countries on regional issues. Furthermore, he reminded that Ankara is a strategic partner of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and that Turkey is happy to be in the same mindset as Oman, with regards to the normalization process in some countries and other regional conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa region.
