The United States assured Israel of its security by pledging to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

“The best way to put Iran’s program back in the box it was in,” he said in a joint press conference with his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid, according to Blinken.

Blinken acknowledged that the US and Israel have “disagreements” over Iran’s nuclear program, but he insisted that the US commitment to preventing Iran from “acquiring a nuclear weapon is unwavering.” Blinken

Israel, according to Lapid, will do whatever is “necessary” to stop Iran’s nuclear program.

“The Iranian threat is real in our eyes, and we are prepared for it. Iran’s ultimate goal is the destruction of the State of Israel. They are doomed to fail. We won’t let them in,” Lapid stated.

Last month, Iran met with representatives of the UK, the French and German governments, as well as China and Russia to discuss reviving the 2015 nuclear agreement, which former US President Donald Trump withdrew the US from last year.
