On Friday, Iranian authorities, the second such incident in as many weeks, seized an oil tanker smuggling fuel in the Gulf.
An official told Iran’s Tasnim News Agency that seven crew members of the vessel have also been arrested by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
According to Gholam Hossein Hosseini, an IRGC public relations official, the tanker was carrying 250,000 liters of smuggled fuel.
A foreign vessel carrying 220,000 liters of smuggled fuel was seized by IRGC forces last week, and its 11 crew members were arrested.
