Talks held by new Libyan interim leader in Benghazi

The newly-elected Chairman of the Presidential Council arrived in Benghazi to discuss with political figures, tribal leaders and activists.

The newly-elected Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammad Younes Menfi, met with tribal leaders, activists and politicians within the context of his campaign to build national unity ahead of the general elections on 24 December.

Initially, Menfi returned to Libya on 11 February from Greece, where he has lived for the past three years. His return comes following his election as the chair of the Presidential Council in the elections which took place in Geneva, with the participation of 75 people from the UN-sponsored Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
