A suicide bomber killed both herself and her baby, Tunisian authorities announced. The incident happened during security operations in an interior mountainous province of Tunisia.
The suicide bomber killed herself by activating an explosive belt right after her husband, a suspected fighter, was killed by Tunisian forces. Only her older daughter survived the explosion. Authorities noted that it was the first time a woman was spotted within an armed group taking refuge in the Mount Salloum area of Kasserine Province.
A suspected leader of Jund al-Khilafa brigade of Tunisia, linked with ISIS, was killed in another operation. The brigade is also thought to be behind various attacks in Tunisia that took place in recent years.
