On Sunday, the Sudanese military announced that six Sudanese soldiers were killed in an attack in the disputed Al-Fashaga border area with Ethiopia.

The editor of the Sudanese Armed Forces newspaper, Ibrahim al-Houri, announced the fatalities.

With the recent fatalities, the number of soldiers killed in the disputed area was brought to 90 since December 2020, according to Al-Houri.

Ethiopian authorities have not commented on the report thus far.

On Saturday, a Sudanese military source expressed that two soldiers had been killed in clashes with Ethiopian forces in the Al-Fashaga border area.

Sudan and Ethiopia recently renewed a dispute on the 1,600-kilometer-long al-Fashaga border.
