Oman’s foreign ministry said on Sunday that the country has secured the release of 14 foreigners who were held in Yemen by Houthi rebels.
A ministry statement expressed that the released people included nationals of the UK, Myanmar, Philippines, and India.
With an Omani military plane, all 14 people were transferred to the capital Muscat.
Since 2014, when Iran-aligned Houthi rebels captured much of the country, including the capital Sanaa, Yemen has been engulfed by violence and instability.
