Rached Ghannouchi infected with COVID-19

It was stated that Rached Ghannouchi, the leader of the Ennahda Movement in Tunisia and the speaker of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP), has been infected with COVID-19.

In a written statement shared on the social media account of the Ennahda Movement leader and the Speaker of the Assembly, Rached Ghannouchi, it was announced that his COVID-19 test turned out to be positive.

In the statement, it was also noted that all of Ghannouchi’s health checks were carried out, all necessary precautions were taken, and that he would carry out his work remotely.

Ghannouchi received his second dose of vaccine at a COVID-19 vaccination center in the north of the Tunisian capital in April and then called on the Tunisian people to register in the electronic system of the Ministry of Health to be vaccinated.

The Tunisian Ministry of Health warned that Alpha and Delta variants of COVID-19 are spreading rapidly in the country.

According to the latest data published by the Ministry, 16 thousand 651 people died in the country due to COVID-19, 501 thousand 396 people were infected, and 406 thousand 349 people recovered.
