According to information received from local sources, the landing of Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh’s plane, which took off from the capital Tripoli in order to visit the city of Ghat in the south of the country, was prevented by militia groups affiliated with warlord Khalifa Haftar. Despite all warnings, the militia groups rejected all attempts to find a solution.

Nasser Yousef, a member of the House of Representatives (HoR) of the city of Ghat, declared that he condemned the blockage of Prime Minister Dbeibeh’s plane by militia groups without any justification.

Yousef stated that as the city of Ghat, they want to host the Prime Minister and GNU members and that they should inform them about the needs of the city. He also stated that the city of Ghat supports the national reconciliation process. In addition to this, The member of the HoR emphasized that the developments are in the interest of certain groups, not the city of Ghat.

Militia forces affiliated with warlord Khalifa Haftar previously prevented Prime Minister Dbeibeh and Head of the Presidential Council Mohamed al-Menfi from landing in the southern city of Sebha.
