On Sunday evening, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received an Israeli delegation in Ramallah, according to local media.

The official Palestinian news agency reported that the delegation was led by Israeli Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz from the left-wing Meretz party, and Israel’s Minister of Regional Cooperation Issawi Frej.

During the meeting, Abbas emphasized that Israel should end its occupation and its construction of Jewish settlements and that a just and comprehensive peace should be achieved through the implementation of international resolutions.

He also said that Israel should stop demolishing Palestinians’ homes and deporting them from Jerusalem.

The Meretz party is among several Israeli parties that support the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and oppose the building of Jewish settlements.
