Morocco affirms absolute support for election efforts in Libya

In a meeting with Libyan Foreign Minister Najla al-Mangoush, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita reiterated his support for the Government of National Unity (GNU) and their adherence to democratic ways.

Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush and her Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita met at the 21st Ordinary Executive Council meeting of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States.

During the talks, Bourita reiterated his support for the Government of National Unity (GNU) and their adherence to democratic ways.

Regional and international developments were discussed at the meeting, where the issues of increasing cooperation opportunities and developing relations between the two countries were discussed.

Foreign Minister al-Mangoush stated that Morocco welcomes its solidarity and encouraging approach to the Libyan people under all circumstances.

In addition, Bourita expressed his unlimited support for the Sahel-Saharan States HQ center planned to be opened in the capital Tripoli.

Hosting the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) signed between rival parties in 2015 in the city of Skhirat, Morocco comes to the fore as a regional actor that prioritizes diplomacy and solidarity in the solution of the Libyan crisis.
