On Monday, ahead of a planned attack, the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) in Iraq announced that its security units had arrested members of a group affiliated with the PKK terrorist organization.

PKK terrorists were planning to carry out rocket attacks on Peshmerga forces, public areas, state buildings and dams, according to the anti-terror units of the KRG.

A “dangerous plot” aimed at the region was neutralized and that security forces had confiscated a large number of explosives, the Security Council of the KRG announced on April 26.

The PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the European Union, has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children and infants, in its more than 35-year terror campaign against the country.
