Libyan PM Dbeibeh visits Qatari counterpart in Doha

Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani met in Doha.

During the meetings held in the Qatari capital, the Libyan Prime Minister and Qatari PM Al-Thani discussed the cooperation and economic investments between the two countries. Dbeibeh, who conducted his first official visit to the Gulf country, thanked Qatar for its support to the Libyan people. He also congratulated Sheikh Tamim, who was successful in the parliamentary elections held on October 2.

Prime Minister Dbeibeh announced that they discussed mutual investment opportunities with Qatar on the reconstruction of Libya and many other issues. In addition to this, Dbeibah stated that Qatar would also be invited to the Libya conference, which is planned to be held at the end of October.

In a statement by the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs released on September 5, it was announced that a conference would be held on the development of special mechanisms regarding the elections planned to be held in December and the implementation of the Second Berlin Conference resolutions.
