Five people were injured and one person died in a rocket attack in Benghazi, which is controlled by the leader of the eastern militia groups, Khalifa Haftar. According to the statement made by local sources, it was stated that the person who lost his life was Libyan comedian and actor Haitham Dirbaash. According to local sources, Dirbaash was hospitalized after a piece of shrapnel hit his body. However, Diirbash died in the hospital where he was taken.

Recent events in Benghazi show that the city has serious security problems. During the week, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) called on Libyan authorities to re-investigate the kidnapping of Siham Sergeva, a member of the Libyan parliament and a lawyer in Benghazi, by unidentified militia two years ago. In the statement, it was stated that Sergeva, who was abducted on July 17, 2019, and hundreds of missing citizens left Libya responsible under international human rights laws.

In Benghazi, which is controlled by the self-proclaimed Libyan National Army (LNA) affiliated with Haftar, many people have been subjected to internal migration to different cities as a result of the conflicts that have taken place since 2014, and the activity of militia groups in the city.
