Lebanon receives Jordanian delegation on an official visit

A Jordanian delegation led by PM and Minister of Defense Bisher al-Khasawneh travelled to Lebanon to meet with Lebanese officials with cooperation in the field of energy being on the top of the agenda.

Jordanian Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher al-Khasawneh travelled to Beirut on an official visit with a delegation, during which he met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.

Al-Khasawneh was received in Beirut by Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, numerous officials, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Beirut, Waleed Hadid.

Accompanied by several ministers, al-Khasawneh will discuss bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in all fields. Al-Khasawneh’s discussions with senior Lebanese officials focus on ways to augment cooperation in the field of energy and advance the work on joint projects.

The Jordanian PM was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi; Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha al-Ali; Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Ibrahim Jazi; and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati.

Jordan had recently witnessed extensive meetings to discuss projects to deliver gas and electricity to Lebanon, which would contribute to supporting the country in facing its current economic challenges.
