Organized by the Lebanese Hezbollah, which cautioned the US and Israel that the ship will be considered Lebanese soil as soon as it sails, a shipment of Iranian fuel will set sail for Lebanon.

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that more ships would follow the initial transport of Iranian oil to help Lebanon which is in the midst of debilitating fuel shortages because of the country’s two-year-long financial collapse.

“We do not want to get into a challenge with anyone, and we do not want to get into a problem with anyone. We want to help our people,” Nasrallah said. “I say to the Americans and the Israelis that the boat, which will sail within hours from Iran, is Lebanese territory.”

Nasrallah did not provide information as to where or when the ship would arrive, saying this would be discussed when it reached the Mediterranean Sea.
