Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz spoke out against a possible nuclear agreement between the West and Iran again on Monday.

Israel is against the proposed pact and will “try to bring it down,” Gantz said on a national channel.

Regarding “enrichment capacity,” “development of nuclear capabilities,” and “weapons systems,” he criticized the agreement as inadequate.

According to the Israeli minister, he met with US President Joe Biden to discuss the Iran nuclear deal during his recent trip to the United States capital.

Israel claims Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons, while Iran insists its program has only peaceful goals in mind.

On Monday, Iran said discussions about reviving the nuclear accord it reached with the West in 2015 were making “excellent progress.”

Former US President Trump, as part of a “maximum pressure campaign,” pulled America from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018 and reimposed sanctions.

Iran’s retaliation consisted of withdrawing from its nuclear agreement obligations. Since then, Tehran has amassed more uranium than it was allowed to have and has enriched more of it than the limits set by the agreement allowed.
