Yasser Abbas, Sudan’s Irrigation Minister gave a stern warning to Addis Ababa concerning the alleged news on the second filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). Abbas underlined that Sudanese citizens living on the Blue Nile would be at risk, should the dam reservoir be filled unilaterally. In addition, such a decision should be agreed upon by all stakeholders, the minister added.
The remarks, which came on Monday in a meeting between Yasser Abbas and the EU’s head to the mission in Sudan and his deputy, was conducted during a wide informative trip conducted with foreign ambassadors located in Khartoum.
