On Monday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Sharm El-Sheikh ahead of the World Youth Forum.

Along with President el-Sisi, Abbas had a “special session of talks” with Diab Al-Louh, the Palestine Ambassador to Egypt and permanent representative to the Arab League.

It was agreed that Egypt will rebuild areas of the Gaza Strip as part of its peace process efforts to end the Israeli occupation.

Chief of the General Intelligence Service Maj. Gen. Majed Faraj, the Palestinian chief justice, Mahmoud al-Habbash, presidential advisor for religious affairs and Islamic relations, and diplomatic affairs adviser Majdi Khaldi accompanied the Palestinian president.

A Palestinian-Israeli political route under international auspices was discussed during a Palestinian-Egyptian-Jordanian summit in Cairo last month.
