On Monday, it was reported that an explosion took place in the northern Syria district of Ras al-Ayn. According to initial reports, at least four civilians, including two children, lost their lives and nine others injured. The wounded people were immediately hospitalized, the local medical sources stated.

The source of the explosion has not been known yet. It was reported that the authorities started an investigation regarding the explosion. Furthermore, several houses were reported to have been damaged by the shock of the explosion.

The Ras al-Ayn district is located in the nearby Turkish-Syrian border. The Turkish Army had liberated the district from the YPG/PKK terrorists through its operation, known as Operation Peace Spring. However, it is seen that the terrorist group has continued its attacks targeting the region, including Ras al-Ayn and Tal Abyad. It had been announced that the terrorist group withdrew its militants from the region after US-Turkey negotiations in October 2019.
