Algerian President receives high-level Libyan delegation before Paris Conference

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Musa Al-Koni, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, and Mohamed Al-Haddad, Chief of Staff.

Musa al-Koni, one of the southern region representatives of the Libyan Presidential Council, and Libyan Chief of General Staff Mohamed Al-Haddad visited Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

During the talks, the parties discussed their common interests and cooperation opportunities in regional and international issues.

President Tebboune stated that Algeria unconditionally reiterated its support for the resolution of the political process in Libya. Tebboune also emphasized that the only way to end the current crisis is to implement political dialogue and reconciliation mechanisms.

Stating that Algeria attaches great importance to the elections to be held on December 24, Tebboune announced that they are making efforts for the security and stability of Libya and all the countries in the region.

Before the upcoming elections in Libya, the High National Electoral Commission (HNEC) announced that the official candidacy application process started as of Monday. November 22 for presidential candidacy and December 7 for parliamentary candidates were determined as deadlines.

Prior to meeting with Tebboune, the Libyan delegation also talked with the Algerian Chief of General Staff, Said Chengriha.
