Algerian President Tebboune travels to Qatar for official visit

According to a written statement from the Qatari Emir’s office, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune at his office in the capital Doha.

In the meeting, in which issues of common importance, as well as bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, were discussed, views were exchanged on a number of regional and international issues and current developments.

During the meeting, the parties signed an agreement on legal and judicial cooperation in criminal matters between the governments of the two countries, and signed a memorandum of understanding in the fields of social development and family, as well as ensuring political consultations and coordination between the foreign ministries of the two governments.

Al Thani, tweeted after the meeting, “We are proud of our relations with our brothers in Algeria in Qatar.”

Noting that they are working with President Tebboune to raise the level of joint cooperation in order to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, Al Thani said that they discussed ways to develop and activate joint Arab work in tackling the challenges facing the region and the Arab nation.
