A rocket attack on the northern Syrian town of Afrin killed six civilians and wounded more than a dozen people.
The YPG/PKK terrorist organization, which conducted the attack, staged it from the Tal Rifaat city, which it continues to occupy.
The targeting of a car in the Maryamin village of Afrin resulted in the death of one civilian and injured two others.
Six rockets targeting the streets of the Political Boulevard, Ziyadiye, and Raju in Afrin district center followed the aforementioned attack. The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that six civilians were killed and nearly 30 others were wounded.
The terrorist group has continued to target the region from Tal Rifaat since the liberation of Afrin. A Turkish-Russian agreement signed in October 2019 requires the YPG/PKK’s withdrawal from the area.
Through Operation Olive Branch in March 2018, Turkish forces and the Syrian National Army managed to liberate the Afrin region from the grip of YPG/PKK terrorists after controlling it for six years.
The PKK, which is listed as a terror organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU, has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants in its more than 35-year terror campaign.
The YPG is the PKK’s Syrian offshoot.
