According to the Israeli Defense Ministry, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas paid a visit to Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz at his house in the center city of Rosh Ha’ayin on Tuesday.

According to the office, the discussion lasted two and a half hours and covered a variety of topics, including security and civil affairs.

Gantz informed Abbas that he intended to “continue to promote actions to strengthen confidence in the economic and civilian sectors, as agreed during their previous meeting,” the ministry said.

Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister Hussein al-Sheikh confirmed the meeting on his Twitter page, saying the two men discussed security, economic, and humanitarian issues, as well as tensions in the West Bank caused by Israeli settlers’ actions.
