Jordan’s Minister of State for Media Affairs, Sakher Dudin, said on Tuesday that the third and final phase of plans to revive segments to achieve a “safe summer” will enter into force as of Wednesday.
Today, the third stage of COVID-19 measures enacted are comprised of eliminating all types of restrictions across the Kingdom and the implementation of in-person attendance education in schools, kindergartens, and universities, according to Dudin.
Dudin also expressed that the final stage also allows all sectors to work around the clock with an operational capacity of 100 percent. However, wedding halls are only allowed to operate at a 50 percent capacity with a maximum of 200 people. At the same time, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, and theatres will be allowed to operate with limited capacity. Furthermore, public transport can also operate with a 100 percent seating capacity.
Dudin continued by indicated that workers in the private sector who did not receive the first dose of the vaccine, or missed the appointment for the second dose, will need to present a negative PCR test on Sunday and Thursday mornings each week.
According to official statements, workers who violate the vaccination instructions are not allowed to work and will experience salary deductions, unless their annual leaves have not been exhausted.
Facilities violating the aforementioned orders for the first time will be closed, Dudin said, adding that in the case of repeat violations, the violating facility will be shut down for a period of two weeks.
