Following a cabinet meeting on the night of February 1, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan highlighted that it is perhaps time to discuss a new constitution for the country. In this regard, Erdoğan stated that a new reform package will be proposed to the public, presenting the goals of the new constitution.
While the Turkish President refrained from elaborating on specific details on the possible changes envisioned, he underlined that the constitution should be written with the contribution of the people, and in a transparent manner.
