Local media said on Monday that a Saudi businessman was reportedly kidnapped in the Baalbek region in eastern Lebanon.
Media reports said that, before they kidnapped him and asked for a ransom, unidentified individuals lured Hussein al-Shammari on Sunday to one of the hills of Baalbek for an offer to sell him land.
They added that the Lebanese army launched a search operation on Monday morning to locate the whereabouts of the businessman.
The army raided a number of suspected sites and found a cache of weapons and ammunition at a house in the Al-Sharawneh neighborhood in the city of Baalbek, according to the reports.
Lebanese or Saudi authorities have yet to comment on the report.
