Biden, Kadhimi discuss recent rocket attacks

On February 23, 2021, US President Joe Biden and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi had a telephone conversation on recent rocket attacks against coalition forces in Iraq. The call was made the very next day of the attack. The parties equally agreed on the schedule that those responsible “must be held entirely to account. While the attacks caused only one casualty, three rocket attacks were conducted in the country in just over a week in Iraq, to target Green Zone areas with US troops, diplomats, or contractors. US and Iraqi officials accused Iran to back such attacks. As you heard us say in the aftermath of the tragic attack in Erbil, we are outraged by the recent attacks,” US State Department spokesman told journalists.
