Haftar’s senior commander killed in Benghazi

A high-ranking militia commander loyal to warlord Khalifa Haftar, the leader of the eastern militia forces, was assassinated in Benghazi.

Shouaib Boumediene, a member of the so-called Libyan National Army (LNA) of the leader of the eastern militia forces, warlord Khalifa Haftar, was killed in an armed attack by unidentified people in Benghazi on Sunday evening.

Boumediene was considered among the important figures of the Haftar militias in the Al-Laithi region.

With Boumediene’s death, Haftar is accused of torturing and assassinating many dissidents across Benghazi.

In 2021, many people were assassinated, especially Mohammed Al-Kani, the perpetrator of the Tarhuna massacre, and Mahmoud Al-Werfalli, one of Haftar’s top commanders.

The perpetrator of these murders has not yet been revealed.
