On Monday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that nine soldiers were killed in direct clashes with the US Navy in the waters of the Persian Gulf.

The IRGC Navy commander Alireza Tangsiri confirmed the incident, saying it took place in the Persian Gulf. However, he did not clarify the timing of the clashes.

While he did not give further details, the Iranian commander said the nine soldiers of IRGC were killed during the clashes.

Tangsiri also stressed that many direct clashes have taken place between Iranian and US naval forces in recent times.

“We have launched nine strikes over our fallen martyrs,” the Iranian commander added.

On the other hand, US authorities have not responded to the Iranian statements yet.
